Dr Anke Nguyen is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a special interest in bowel disorders and bowel cancer screening. She is a Senior Staff Specialist at Eastern Health and Austin Health, where she regularly supervises junior doctors and medical students.
Anke is subspecialised in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), completing a PhD in this field as well as a 1.5-year training and research fellowship at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany.
Anke is skilled in performing gastroscopies, colonoscopies and intestinal ultrasound. Anke welcomes referrals for all gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions, including per rectal bleeding, iron deficiency, reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, liver derangement and liver disease, coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
All referrals are reviewed within a week and patients can be seen urgently via telehealth if needed.
