A/ProfAshishSrinivasan

A/Prof Ashish Srinivasan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who combines public appointments at Austin Health and Eastern Health with private practice. He consults privately at Gastrointestinal Specialists, and performs intestinal ultrasound (IUS) privately at Melbourne Bowel Ultrasound.

Following completion of gastroenterology training, Ashish was awarded a prestigious clinical and research fellowship at Oxford University Hospital, where he furthered his training in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colonoscopy. He subsequently trained in IUS at the University Hospital Erlangen, Germany, and subsequently established the IUS service at Austin Health for which he is the Clinical Lead.

A/Prof Srinivasan maintains a keen interest in the latest IBD therapies. His PhD, undertaken through Monash University, focused on how to optimise advanced IBD therapies such as biologics to improve patient outcomes in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He also remains active in clinical teaching and research supervision through his appointments as a Clinical Associate Professor at both Monash University and The University of Melbourne.

A/Prof Srinivasan has a particular interest in bowel disorders and colonoscopy. He is a skilled endoscopist (gastroscopy, colonoscopy, PillCam) with access to regular private and public endoscopy lists. He welcomes referrals from all aspects of gastroenterology, and is happy to be contacted directly by GPs and specialists to provide advice, discuss patients, and/or accommodate urgent referrals.
