Dr Deb Karmakar is a Melbourne-based gynaecologist with over 20 years' experience across India, the UK and Australia. He focuses on minimally invasive surgery and complex gynaecological conditions, particularly pelvic floor disorders, endometriosis, pelvic pain and bladder pain.

A Calcutta University graduate, Dr Karmakar trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at AIIMS, New Delhi. He later undertook advanced training in urogynaecology and minimally invasive surgery in the UK, followed by further specialist training and a urogynaecology fellowship at Mercy Hospital for Women, Melbourne. He has been a recognised specialist since 2018 and continues to provide care in regional Victoria.

Dr Karmakar completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne examining applications of artificial intelligence in women's health. He works closely with colorectal surgeons, urologists, perioperative physicians, physiotherapists and psychologists to provide multidisciplinary care.
