Dr Dov Degen OAM is a dual trained Nephrologist and General Medicine Physician with Peri-operative experience, as well as a qualified VAD (euthanasia) Physician. He received an Order of Australia for service to medicine and mental health support. He holds a public appointment at Eastern Health and an honorary appointment at Alfred Health. He has private rooms at Central Park Specialist Centre in East Malvern. He is a Peri-operative Physician with Melbourne Hip and Knee.
He has extensive medical experience in diverse areas, with particular interests in diabetic nephropathy, hypertension, glomerulonephritits, kidney stones, mental health (including lithium nephropathy), obesity and metabolic syndrome, palliative care and chronic disease management.
He is passionate about medical education and previously worked as a Director of Physician Education at Eastern Health. He is a Teaching Associate for Monash University and a Professional Practice tutor for medical students at Melbourne University.
Dr Dov Degen has excellent communication skills and has up-skilled through reputable masterclass workshops. He takes pride in providing clear and accurate information to ensure his patients understand the nuances of their care and are included in their management decisions. He is a holistic physician who practises with compassion and empathy towards his patients.
