Dr Fiona Pearce is a skilled ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon, specialising in eyelid, lacrimal, and anterior orbital surgery with local and international fellowship training. She is committed to providing high-quality and compassionate care to her patients.
Born and raised in Hobart, Fiona graduated medicine with clinical distinction from the University of Tasmania. Her exceptional academic performance was recognised with several awards, including the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons University Prize, the JF Correy Prize and the Dean's Roll of Excellence.
Following her surgical residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Fiona completed specialist training in ophthalmology through the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital program. She spent additional years refining her skills in oculoplastic surgery at Cambridge University Hospital in the UK and at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She also completed additional fellowships in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery at University Hospital Geelong and Alfred Health.
As an invited international speaker and contributor to the Centre for Eye Research Australia, she actively engages with the latest advancements in ophthalmology. Beyond her clinical practice, Fiona is involved in teaching, mentoring, and training the next generation of ophthalmologists. She holds private appointments at Epworth Geelong, and public appointments at University Hospital Geelong and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne.
