Areas of Interest
Dr Hector Georgiou is a UK-trained gynaecologist with subspecialist accreditation in fertility/reproductive medicine by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is doubly qualified as a Medical Doctor and Science PhD from Imperial College London – one of the top 10 universities in the world.
He undertook his postgraduate training at some of the most prestigious hospitals in Oxford and London. In addition, he completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and IVF at the Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne.
Part of his enthusiasm for practising medicine comes from seeing research translated into clinical practice. His research has been highly cited in respected medical journals and has been incorporated in professional society guidelines that influence global IVF practice.
Hector holds a Clinical Senior Lectureship at the University of Melbourne, where his research focuses on luteal phase support and endometriosis.
His special interests include fertility treatment for LGBTQIA+ couples, egg freezing, PCOS, recurrent implantation failure and unexplained fertility.
