Mr John Beer is a Melbourne trained Plastic Surgeon who is based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. His primary private practice is at the Rathmines Clinic in leafy Hawthorn East.

John received his primary medical education from Melbourne University, and completed his undergraduate training at St Vincent's Hospital. Between 2004 and 2006, he trained in General Surgery at St Vincent's Hospital, and then in 2007 he began four years of advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Melbourne. In 2011, he embarked on an international fellowship to gain further experience in reconstructive surgery. John now holds a position as a visiting consultant Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon at the Austin Hospital.

John is trained in all aspects of plastic surgery, including early and advanced skin cancer; facial surgery (aesthetic, reconstructive and rejuvenation); rhinoplasty of the nose; and microvascular reconstructions of the head and neck, breast and limb, particularly following oncological surgery or trauma. John also has extensive experience in hand surgery.
