In addition to her private practice, Dr Abel has a public appointment at the Mercy Hospital for Women, consulting in general pregnancy and perinatal medicine clinics (including maternal-fetal medicine, recurrent miscarriage, and diabetes), early pregnancy assessment clinic, and gynaecology units. She manages the tertiary-level Birth Suite and maintains frequent operating lists and ultrasound sessions.
She has extensive experience in both high-risk obstetrics and low-risk normal pregnancies. Her specific expertise includes managing cervical insufficiency and pregnancies at high risk of pre-term birth, with significant experience in the insertion of cervical cerclages.
Dr Abel provides specialised care for twin pregnancies, vaginal birth after caesarean section (VBAC), diabetes, and complex medical conditions. She is experienced in complex caesarean sections and instrumental vaginal births. With deep personal understanding and professional expertise in IVF pregnancies, she offers empathetic care for families facing fertility challenges.
