Dr Lima Wetherell is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon with a special interest in endometriosis, pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding and fibroids. She is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who has completed an additional two year nationally recognized AGES (Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society) Fellowship at Monash Health focusing on minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. Lima prides herself on having an understanding and caring bedside manner with a patient centered approach being the focus of her consultations. Each appointment is tailored to the specific needs of the patient with a focus on evidence based multidisciplinary management. Lima grew up in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, graduating from medical school at the University of Melbourne in 2012. Subsequent to this she completed her specialist training as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist working at the Royal Women's Hospital for 7 years and obtaining her FRANZCOG. She then pursued further training by completing an AGES Fellowship at Monash Health. Lima currently holds a public appointment at two tertiary referral hospitals, Monash Health Endosurgical Department and the Royal Women's Hospital Gynaecology 1 Unit, working in both clinics and theatre lists.
