Dr Matt Gibney is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician with expertise in a broad range of respiratory and sleep disorders. He has particular interests in the assessment of breathlessness and management of airways diseases.
Matt graduated from Monash University Medical School in 2014. He subsequently trained as a junior doctor at Austin and Northern Health before completing his specialist Respiratory and Sleep Medicine training at Eastern Health and Royal Melbourne Hospital.
He currently holds appointments in Respiratory Medicine and General Medicine at Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is completing a Clinical Research Fellowship through the University of Melbourne, where he is involved in research in severe COPD and lung cancer.
As a student, Matt competed as a distance runner at a national level and in the US College system. He loves discussing all things running-related and is happy to review athletes of all abilities with respiratory and sleep disorders.
