Miachael graduated from Melbourne University in 2000 and completed his physician training, specialising in Nephrology, in 2007. He completed a PhD at Melbourne University studying the mechanisms of proteinuria.
He has held consultant positions at Austin Health in Nephrology and Mercy Health in Obstetric Medicine before moving to Geelong with his young family in 2010. He practises in all areas of Nephrology from mild chronic kidney disease through to endstage kidney disease and all modalities of dialysis and renal transplantation. He works in the field of General Medicine in both the public and private system and is actively involved in teaching medical students from the Deakin University School of Medicine.
