Dr Oliver Cronin is an Advanced Endoscopist/Gastroenterologist, Fulbright Scholar and Churchill Fellow with an interest in bowel cancer prevention and early detection.
After completion of his specialty training (FRACP), Oliver completed a 2-year “Advanced Endoscopic Resection and Therapeutics” Fellowship at Westmead Hospital under the mentorship of Professor Michael Bourke, a world-leading authority in Endoscopy.
Oliver was then selected for a prestigious Fulbright Future Scholarship to attend NYU Langone, an innovative, high-volume quaternary Endoscopy centre in New York (USA). NYU Langone is consistently ranked amongst the top 3 hospitals in the United States.
Oliver has completed a PhD at the University of Sydney with a focus on high quality, safe and effective endoscopy. He has published over 50 original papers, reviews and abstracts in leading international, peer-reviewed journals. The impact of his research has been recognised with a post-graduate NHMRC Scholarship.
Outside of work, Oliver enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 young daughters. He is a keen runner and has completed over 15 marathons and 2 ironman triathlons.
