Dr Premini Thanarajah is a Rehabilitation Physician consulting at Epworth Camberwell, where she delivers compassionate, evidence-based care focused on improving quality of life through expert rehabilitation strategies.

Dr Thanarajah also has extensive expertise in managing complex cases such as multi-trauma orthopaedic rehabilitation, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), and head and neck (ENT) rehabilitation.
With a strong foundation in community rehabilitation, she previously spent four years at the Epworth Transitional Living Centre (TLC), where she managed patients with ABI and multi-trauma orthopaedic injuries in collaboration with Medical and Allied Health Teams.
In addition to her outpatient work, Dr Thanarajah provides inpatient care at Epworth Camberwell, specialising in orthopaedic, reconditioning, neurological, and general rehabilitation.
Dr Thanarajah completed her medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Adelaide in 2006, followed by specialist training in Rehabilitation Medicine in Melbourne. She also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Graduate Certificate in Health Management, underscoring her dedication to health promotion, health literacy, and disease prevention.
Since 2015, she has served on the Epworth Rehabilitation Medical Advisory Committee and was appointed Secretary of the Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (RMSANZ) in 2023.
Dr Thanarajah has received Epworth study grants to explore Community-Based Rehabilitation in the United Kingdom (UK) and Tele-Rehabilitation in Singapore. During these studies, she visited leading rehabilitation centres abroad and facilitated international research collaborations for Epworth HealthCare.
In addition to her private practice, Dr Thanarajah holds a public appointment at Monash Health and is actively involved in medical education. She teaches medical students Professional Practice and Clinical Skills at the University of Melbourne and serves as an Examiner with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM).
