Dr Shane Selvanderan is a specialist Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. Shane's specific interests include bowel cancer screening, luminal gastroenterological conditions, pancreaticobiliary disease and therapeutic endoscopy, but he welcomes referrals for all manner of gastroenterology and hepatology conditions.
He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2015 and was awarded the David Murray Scholarship for his Honours degree research and the Australian Medical Association (South Australia) Medal. He undertook core Gastroenterology training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2022. He then completed two dedicated interventional endoscopy fellowships at The Alfred hospital and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He has returned to Melbourne to take up public appointments at The Alfred and Eastern Health.
Shane performs high-quality diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as a range of advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, balloon enteroscopy, luminal stenting and endoscopic resection of large polyps and early gastrointestinal tract cancers.
