Dr Tom Kavanagh is a highly skilled generalist obstetrician and gynaecologist who provides comprehensive care for patients at all stages of life. He has a particular interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and fertility care.

Tom offers care for heavy or painful periods, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, cervical screening abnormalities, contraception, menopause, sexual health, and fertility assessment and management.

Tom is known for his calm and approachable manner, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and empowered in their healthcare decisions. He is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive care for women and patients from all backgrounds. Tom also takes pride in providing safe, open minded and inclusive care for fellow members of the queer community.

Tom completed his medical degree at Monash University and trained as a specialist at Melbourne's Royal Women's Hospital, and Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.

Tom performs surgical procedures at Epworth Geelong, with advanced training in minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques designed to optimise recovery and outcomes. He consults at OGB Surfcoast in Geelong and holds a public appointment at Joan Kirner Hospital in Melbourne's west.

Outside of medicine, Tom enjoys an active lifestyle, often found going on adventures, paddling a surfski, at a live gig, or entertaining friends and family.
