MrAkhtarSayed Hassen

Sayed is a General Surgeon who specialises in Upper G.I and Hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. Sayed completed his medical degree at Leeds University in the UK and undertook his surgical training in Newcastle upon Tyne in England and in Melbourne. Sayed obtained his fellowship in the UK as well as in Australia with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1995.

Sayed is the Director of Surgery at Eastern Health and has clinic appointments and operates at both the Box Hill Public Hospital and privately at Epworth Eastern. Sayed has been the Chair and still sits on the Federal Board of General Surgery. He has also previously served as the Vice President and the treasurer of General Surgeons Australia.

Sayed is particularly interested in ERCPs, pancreatic and oesophagogastric cancers.
