Clinical Professor Garun Hamilton (MBBS, FRACP, PhD) is one of Australia's leading specialists in sleep medicine, with extensive clinical experience, and a PhD in the cardiovascular consequences of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. He is Director of Sleep Research at Monash Health, where he works as a Respiratory and Sleep Physician, and also holds an appointment with Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS). He is currently President of the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) and previously has been Chair of the Clinical Committee of the ASA. He has been instrumental in producing a range of clinical practice guidelines and position statements for sleep medicine in Australasia. He has broad interests in sleep medicine, including obstructive sleep apnoea, non-invasive ventilation for chronic respiratory failure, disorders of excessive sleepiness and insomnia. In his clinical practice he cares for patients with a broad range of sleep disorders and he is happy to accept referrals of patients with all types of sleep problems.
