About
A/Prof Rachel Wong is a consultant oncologist specialising in the treatment and management of upper gastrointestinal, colorectal and lung cancers.She is Deputy Director of Oncology at Eastern Health, an adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Monash University and a research fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. She is an eviQ committee member & co chair (2017-2021) and a member of the ESMO Leadership Generation Taskforce committee. She has held the roles of (acting) chair of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Advanced Training Committee in Medical Oncology and chair of the Victorian Medical Oncology Training Programme.After finishing medical oncology training in Melbourne, A/Prof Wong completed a research fellowship in gastrointestinal cancers and lymphoma at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in London. Her research interests encompass cancer registries and clinical trials to improve the quality of care and outcomes in clinical practice including defining the clinical utility of novel biomarkers such as circulating tumour DNA, and examining novel therapeutic agents, including immunotherapy. She has published several peer reviewed papers, abstracts and chapters in her areas of interest.
