Dr Amanda Richards is a dual fellowship trained Laryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon practicing in the area of voice, swallow, airway and head and neck cancer. Her expertise includes care of professional singers and performers, surgery of the vocal folds, laser treatments of the larynx, airway and swallowing disorders and office-based procedures. She leads multidisciplinary clinics providing state of the art care for clients. In conjunction with her Neurology colleagues, Amanda provides a neurodiagnostic service for neurologic voice disorders. She also sees paediatric patients with voice issues, as well as other ENT problems of childhood.
After graduating from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Amanda completed her laryngology fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical Centre in New York City. Being part of a dynamic clinical and research team dedicated to voice and breathing reinforced her desire to provide the same level of clinical excellence. Along with her laryngology expertise, she also has fellowship training in surgical oncology from St George’s NHS London, and integrates this experience into her voice practice by providing minimally invasive and voice preserving laryngeal cancer treatment.
Amanda is a clinical researcher and committed member of the Australian Voice community, serving as the Vice President of the Laryngology Society of Australasia and past President of the Australian Voice Association. She is the lead surgeon at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Voice Clinic and the Neurolaryngology clinic.
