George completed his BSc in 1979 and then obtained his medical degree in 1986 at Melbourne University. His cardiology training was at the Austin & Repatriation hospital. Following this he travelled to Boston in America, where he worked with Dr Herman Gold for 2 years, completing his Interventional Cardiology training and research in antiplatelet therapy. On return to Melbourne he has developed a highly successful and diverse private practice in the central and eastern suburbs. George is a visiting medical officer at both the Austin Medical Centre and Box Hill Hospital. He has developed a strong interest in training up and coming cardiologists as well as being involved in research activities at both hospitals.
