About
Professor Minoo Patel is a senior orthopaedic surgeon with more than 20 years’ experience. He has expertise in adult and paediatric upper limb surgery (shoulder, elbow and hand surgery), including arthroscopy, arthroplasty (joint replacement) and trauma. He also has experience in limb reconstruction, a new orthopaedic subspecialty that deals with limb lengthening and deformity correction surgery in both adults and children.
Professor Patel is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Engineering within the College of Science, Engineering and Health, Senior Lecturer at Monash University and Hon Research Fellow at Melbourne University. He is the Chair of the Australian Orthopaedic Association Research Foundation. He has published over fifty journal articles and book chapters, and has over 250 academic presentations. He is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction, and is on the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is Fellowship Director for an AOA accredited upper limb fellowship.
Professor Patel sees all patients irrespective of insurance status including Work Cover and TAC patients. All emergencies are seen within 24 hours and referring GPs and physiotherapists have the ability to seek advice over the phone.
